Right now, that means the development of artist residencies and maker spaces, and regular programming that we offer free of charge — and it won’t stop there. We’re always finding new ways to put a gift to work; Ripples of Impact, below, is the newest.
I want to give →The pen may be mightier than the sword, but a paintbrush can conjure the ineffable. Art can create worlds, ascend the transcendental, and expand the only limitation that exists: the imagination.
The Foundation’s mission is to champion creative talent, particularly those in service to regeneration and systems change.
That mission is why we’re building three things at once, not one. Art For Impact is about repurposing land and underused spaces for artist residencies, maker spaces and incubators, and providing them with wellness and educational programs, so that artists and innovators are supported to create their best work.
Perchik Poetry Program will award grants for poets who are part of or have applied to the artist residencies, while honoring one of the most published poets in America.
Alongside these two, we’re shaping a wider circle of programs in service to human flourishing — among them Attunements, a practice for presence and regeneration, and Ripples of Impact, which traces how far a gift actually travels. Each is still taking shape, held to one standard: doing better, on every axis, in the most efficient way we can find.
Recommend a grant to Bergen Family Foundation. Most DAF sponsors — Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, National Philanthropic Trust — process this in 3–5 business days.
For gifts of $10,000 or more, or if you’d prefer to give directly, contact us and we’ll send wire instructions or a mailing address the same day.
Give any amount by card, one-time or monthly, in a few seconds — securely processed and receipted automatically.
Our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status is currently in progress with the IRS. Once approved, donations made now will qualify as tax-deductible retroactive to our founding date. We’ll email your receipt either way, so you’re covered when it’s time to file.
Every gift starts as a conversation.
Give to one program below, or to the Foundation across all its areas of support.
Underwrite all three, or give where it’s needed most this year.
Founding Tier Donate →Direct support to creatives — artist residencies, maker spaces, and incubators.
Art For Impact Donate →Contributes to the Perchik Poetry Prize, and gifts his poetry books to libraries and educational institutions.
Perchik Poetry Program Donate →Stillness has its own momentum. So does a gift, once it’s given.
What comes next.
Three ideas taking shape at different speeds — one we’re actively building, two that are simply where our attention has gone this season.
Ripples of Impact
An early idea we’re developing — a way to trace what a gift actually produces, and how far it travels. It’s still taking shape; we’ll share more as it does.
Supporting Bhutan’s Delegation
We’ve been glad to offer space and hospitality to a visiting delegation from Bhutan, supporting the building of The Mindfulness City — the safe relocation of the Bhutanese people, and the implementation of regenerative solutions such as waste-to-energy technologies.
Exploring residency models
We’re attending gatherings like Edge City in India this October — to learn from other residency models as we shape our own artist residencies and maker spaces.
Let’s support good people doing good things.
We are building this foundation’s first roster of founding patrons — the names who stood behind it before it was asked of anyone else. If that’s a conversation you want to have, write to us directly.
